A New York native, I was born to Pakistani immigrant parents who named me Quratul Aeen, which means “the coolness of the eye” in Arabic, but called me Annie for short. I was born in New York City and raised in Albany County, upstate New York. After high school, I went to Northeastern University in Boston, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Business Administration. I worked as a financial analyst until my oldest was born, after which I became a stay-at-home mom so I could care for his complex medical needs.
My husband and I have three children, who are 5.5, 4, and 1.5 years old.
My oldest is currently in kindergarten, and my middle child will be
entering pre-K in the fall of 2023. We had been dreaming of moving back to New York, and in 2020, we chose Ossining for its diversity, rich culture, and accessible education. I work part-time as an accountant for a local Westchester woman-owned business. I am the current secretary of the Ossining Early Childhood PTA, class helper, chaired the Park School sweetheart dance, and am a frequent board meeting attendee. I am an active member and participant of ENU Builds, a youth and community outreach initiative based in Ossining that is also involved in work with the district. I also created the Ossining/Briarcliff Manor Playgroup where I have worked closely to host events with local businesses such as Mike Risko Music, the Ossining fire station, and Ossining police department.
In my free time I enjoy running, reading, gardening, and stressing out my husband with new DIY house projects!
